Patrick Wolf: We're his Pack.

For those of you who don't know, Patrick Wolf is an experimental pop musician from London. His work is beautiful! I saw him at Le Poisson Rouge in NYC a week ago, met him after the show, and ended up getting caste as a dancer for his new music video the following day!!

Tribal couture is how I would describe Patrick's video. I was the guinea pig for the fitting of Charles Manning's costume design - the collar hurt but it was well worth it.
After getting stuffed into a skin-tight spandex body suit us dancers were splattered with fluorescent paint and placed on elevated boxes to perform the choreography! Unfortunately, we had to simplify the original dance because the collars acted as horse blinders - we couldn't see the edges of the box or our feet for that matter...

I was happy to see that Patrick remembered me from the previous night: he walked into the studio and approached me "you dance!?" I was caught off guard by his question soI slipped behind a couple of beats in the choreography, but managed to continue the dance while saying hello.
I’m very excited to see how the video will turn out! It was WILD. I cannot wait to see Patrick perform in San Francisco June 8Th ! And who knows, maybe I’ll get to work with Nylon Magazine again =)

And, because this is an ART blog, here are 2 projects from Pratt finals week (I'm on summer!!)

This is an important piece to me, it documents the first time I had a private nude model. It took three half hour poses for me. I feel like things have come full circle in the art world - I will pose for someones artwork, and in return someone will pose for me.

This piece came about as a joke - I was in a light argument with a classmate about weather vegetarians/ vegans can eat Jello. My opinion is that neither should consume it because it comes from horse hooves. I took my plaster mold and mixed blue and red jello to achieve the hue and intensity of blood. I also added bits of fruit gummies to point out how Jello is marketed as a type of fruit derivative - which is false. Who said finals week couldn't be fun and games?
P.s. I did not eat the jello.
