Dr. Sketch's Valenties sesh

Its long past, but I finally got around to posting my drawings from Dr. Sketchy's Valentines day figure drawing! It's a lively event held in a lower east side bar - I heard of Dr. Sketchys before I even moved out to NY so I was thrilled when my friend took me there on Valentines as a surprise. The model went through four hours of make up! Full body paint. It was insane

Twas an awesome Valentines. I have a ton of new art that has yet to be posted (as usual) I'll get around to it later in the week - Adios folks!

Spring Break: On the GO

Art update:
A Day of the Dead inspired skull for Kindall's B-Day giftie
oil paint on press board

A Planar self portrait. I need to revisit this one to re-do the hair in planes - the random lines in the hair are too distracting...
I sort of rushed the piece so I could go see my friends band Holly Miranda perform in williamsburg! And for a new Thursday night club my friend Ryan M. and Greg K. (from the misshapes) started, "Main Man." I spent too long on the art piece though and missed the performance... at least I got to hang out with them afterwards. I ended the night at a party full of wonderful berkeley/ nyu kids at Emmah K's apt.

From a random photo sesh
When the right light hits, this ally is beautiful. I walk past here almost everyday on my way to class, but it never really struck me as stunning until now

I'm in California for the break - and currently in Mountain Ranch taking it easy with the lake an nature. It's easy to forget how refreshing the country is

Happy St. Patty's Day !

My First Plaace!

I just moved into a beautiful 2 floor Brooklyn loft with two good friends of mine from Pratt ! Between moving in / school work /midterms/ applications / going out I have had no time. Below is sneak peak at our place

Kindall (roomie) in the kitchen and the spiral staircase that leads to Paul-land... When we get further with decorations i'll post better photos.

Live model, longer pose

A quick Sfumato oil painting done for my Light and Color Design Class

This one is a work in progress, it's about 22 x 30 inches all done in pen. I'm doing two final versions: one as an ink painting and the other a prismacolor greyscale rendering. I've already pulled one all nighter on this one, I sense another will be needed soon....

In drawing class we have been doing lots of quick acrylic studies with a live model - here is an incomplete one

Spring break is next week, assuming I survive this week of midterms I'll be free to frolic and make proper blog posts! I'll be a comin' on home to Frisco the 14-20 !

p.s. Happy Birthday Ana & Kindall!!
